Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as the morning news anchor as well as a crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax police response in response to DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell worked as a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV before joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. As well as her job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. In addition, she hosted The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
